Review: Toyota Camry Solara. Love Grows

Monday February 16, 2004
Solara_small.jpg It was always easy to ignore the Camry Solara, simply because it was invisible and not much fun to drive. All that has changed with the 2004 Toyota Camry Solara. Now the Camry coupe gets admiring glances. Now it has an admirable interior. Now it can be driven on a winding road in true sporting fashion. Still not a car that causes one to fall in love at first glance, the new Camry Solara grew on me the more I drove it until, when it was time to give the car back, I'd have happily kept the keys and made the payments. Fortunately the imminent arrival of a restored classic makes such extravagance impossible but on the basis of our test drive, the new Solara would have been a loving companion. This review explains why.
