New TAG Heuer Watch Based on Auto Technology
Monday May 3, 2004
It was the first-ever trip to Europe for my ex- and I; Zurich the destination. Without a second thought for Maggie's interests, I drove flat-out to the nearest jewelery shop and bought a Heuer Carrera wristwatch which was, in the late 60's, the one to have on your wrist if you were a somebody in motor racing. Very costly in New York but at $125 in Switzerland it was a bargain. I still wear that Heuer Carrera daily and it is now valued around $800. I mention this because TAG Heuer has just launched two new revolutionary watches: the SLR Chronograph (based on the Mercedes SLR) and the new Monaco V4. The V4 is a world-first in watchmaking, "a rethinking of the fundamental principles of the mechanical movement." I don't understand the technology but if Maggie and I ever make another trip to Zurich she knows where I'm heading...
