New Porsche 911 Carrera Announced

It was a gorgeous spring evening and I was humming along the highway in our Jetta TDI Wagon test car when I was passed by a beautifully-restored Porsche 356A Roadster from the late 50's. What better way to launch a new Porsche, I thought, as I waved to the silver-haired driver, wishing it was me. Thus I can cheerfully announce a new Porsche 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S, to be available later this summer. The 911 Carrera produces 325 hp and has a top track speed of 177 mph; the 911 Carrera S develops 355 hp, with a track speed of 182 mph and 0-60 acceleration of 4.8 seconds. Both come with a 6-speed manual or optional 5-speed Tiptronic. No radical changes to the styling, of course.
