Test Drive: 2004 Mercedes-Benz E320 CDI
Tuesday June 15, 2004
Sometimes I think these model designators sound more like a secret code than a car name. Nevertheless the 2004 Mercedes-Benz E320 CDI is one terrific automobile, in particular because "CDI" stands for diesel. This mid-size luxury machine has a whopping 369 foot-pounds of torque, which translates to whopping good performance and delivers fuel mileage good enough to make an oil exporter wince. Robert Bowden clearly enjoyed driving a car that is more than just another prestige nameplate. The list of active safety features is as impressive as the badge is long.
