Summer Heats Up, Prices Go Down
Saturday June 19, 2004
Wondering when's the best time to buy a new car? There are two "best times" actually, but one of them is right now. As summer moves in, folks move out, heading for the beaches, the forests, the popular vacation spots. In the deep south they're likely to stay inside, rather than swelter in 90-degree heat. Either way, the purchase of a new car begins to slip down the list of necessities, with the result that dealers are more willing to negotiate lower prices. The other "best time" is the December/January period when holiday shopping becomes a priority.
