At Last, An Audi A3 For Us

For several years Audi gave Europeans a slightly upmarket hatchback built on the VW Golf platform. It wasn't available in North America but the new A3, just revealed to the media in Monaco, will be coming here in 2005. It's a hatch with station wagon overtones, thus Audi will call it the A3 Sportback. A new 200 hp 4-cylinder turbo with front-wheel-drive and a 6-speed manual scoots the Sportback from 0-60 in under seven seconds. Base price will be approximately $25,000.
