Road Tests: Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Matrix

The Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Matrix are fraternal twins and the youngest children of a Toyota-General Motors partnership that goes back twenty years. Colin Hefferon test drove the base model of the Pontiac Vibe this week, while I reviewed the go-faster Matrix XRS. He liked his, I was lukewarm to mine, but we came to the same conclusion: The Matrix and Vibe are great cars, and the less-powerful models are the way to go.
