Pic of gas pump. FreeFoto/Ian BrittonWhile prices have leveled off some, gas is still pricey. We're talking two bucks a gallon around me (and probably the same near you) -- it's becoming a purchase that hurtsus (forgive me). Oh, I know, you're thinking, "poor car guys, you get to drive new cars with full tanks of gas... what do you know of gas prices?" Well, we pay for the gas and, besides that, we have our own cars, too. So to return a test car, we're talking at least $30 to "fill 'er up!" But using what I affectionately refer to as our Top 10 Miserly Companions, you'll get an idea of what cars are going to get the best mileage and therefore be kind to your wallet. By the way, here's a site that helps you find some of the cheapest gas in your area. Photo courtesy Ian Britton/FreeFoto —Bob Schulties
