Mexican motoring; tomorrow's Forenza
Tuesday February 22, 2005
I'm back in Phoenix after four days in Mexico, where I saw all sorts of road-going goodies we North Americans can't get (Peugeot 206, SEAT Cordoba, Ford EcoSport) and wouldn't want (a Chevy Corsica with a wooden board where the driver's door used to be). Tonight I fly back to LA, and tomorrow Suzuki will drop off a Forenza wagon, a car we North Americans used to be able to get but didn't seem to want. Back then it was called the Daewoo Nubira. If memory serves me correctly, I loved it and Tropical Bob hated it. It'll be interesting to see what changes Suzuki has made to the car. I wasn't particularly fond of the Nubira-based Reno, but according to Phil they did an excellent job converting the Daewoo Leganza into the 2004 Suzuki Verona (pictured). Stay tuned! --Aaron Gold
