Suzuki Forenza: What a difference some sheetmetal makes

Friday February 25, 2005
forenza_wagon_18.jpegThe Suzuki Forenza Wagon is essentially the same car as the Reno I recently tested, except the Reno is a 5-door hatchback and the Forenza Wagon is, well, a wagon. I like the wagon more. A lot more. The Reno/Forenza's personality just doesn't work as a 5-door hatch. It lacks the cheep-n-cheerful feeling that cars like the Hyundai Accent (which is also $4,000+ cheaper) have in abundance. No, this car comes off much better as a wagon -- steady, straightforward and utilitarian. As I predicted in the Reno review, the 2.0 liter engine is a perfect match for the four-speed automatic. I'm all ready to run down to Home Depot and load up this baby up with gardening supplies. Oh, wait -- I don't have a garden...

the gas milage on the suzuki forenza should be 25/34 because of the 127hp engine. But it is a decent car for 14,000 or about 9,000 used it will get you maybe 4 years(my prediction). people complain to much about a 14,000 car. why do people expect 10 years out of a 14,000 car beats me. We have an 06 forenza sedan and it has about 70,000 miles on it and no problems yet hopefully the most I have seen out of a forenza is 135,000 miles. It is a five speed manual with a rear spolier and tinted windows. I dont understand why critics say the forenza will have a hard time keeping up in traffic, ours doesnt and just keep in mind critics what size and horsepower engine you are using to carry an almost 3000LB car with an extra maybe 200 man or a 160 pound woman. the only complaints i have is the side crash test and i dont understand why suzuki didnt use the 155hp aerio engine in the 2750Lb forenza
