Test Drive: 2005 Buick LaCrosse
Wednesday April 13, 2005
General Motors has been all over the headlines these past few weeks. Between Lutz's "misparaphrased" comments about Buick and Pontiac going away, the executive reshuffling, and the recent LA Times business (GM pulled their ads from the L.A. Times after a controversial article by Dan O'Neil that panned both the Pontiac G6 and GM's management), the executives at GM's headquarters must be sweating bullets. A GM spokesman assured me that Buick is not only viable, but quite profitable, as they attempt to shed their old-man's-car image. Our resident old man, Philip Powell, test drove the LaCrosse (the Allure, to you Canadians) and found that if Buick is to bridge the gap between older and younger buyers, they need to make the bridge just a wee bit longer. -- Aaron Gold
