Picture of 2005 Saturn Ion "Oh, right, the Saturn booth." That was me talking to my father-in-law at this year's auto show. "We forgot all about Saturn." That's easy to do, you see -- neither of us even know anyone who's driving a Saturn. We both know people who had a Saturn but those folks have moved into bigger, more upscale cars. Or they went the hybrid route. It looked for a while like Saturn was going to be the "non-corporate" American car -- there was even speculation that Saturn would offer a hybrid. But that never happened and Saturn quickly lost its way. They even make a high-performance SUV now. So what does Saturn stand for? Philip Powell got behind the wheel of a 2005 Saturn Ion and it sure seems like he came to the conclusion Saturn's not sure what they're into, either.—Bob Schulties
