Mondays suck

Today's blog entry comes from About Cars writer BJ Killeen: Mondays suck. I had deadlines that weren’t going to be met, I had to switch banks because I finally got tired of mine sucking my account dry with fees, plus I had to go to a government office and stand in line, not to mention driving 30 miles to trade cars. Everything was making me mad; I couldn’t even find an XM station I wanted to listen to, and I had over 150 options. It was that bad. When I got to the car swap, I traded the keys to a Pontiac Torrent for the keys to a Winning Blue Mazda MX-5 Miata Grand Touring coupe. I hopped in, blipped the throttle, dropped the top (in one swift movement, I might add), and headed for the freeway. As soon as I took the onramp, heard the sweet exhaust note, cranked up Tom Petty on the stereo, and put the pedal down, I actually had a grin on my face. Hard to imagine such a little car could be such a big mood changer. I was actually having a good time. It’s hard to park this car and walk away: you wanna keep running back to hug it. No wonder the MX-5 has such a huge fan club. I think I’m going to ask the boss for a few days off and go for a long, long drive. -- BJ Killeen

I am trying to reach Aron Gold (who writes about the Mazda Miata MX-5.
I own the 99 MX-5 Miata it’s RED; I live in N.C. and since they passed the new Emission Inspection test law, You NEVER see the Miata around here any more! For some reason the Engine Emission light stays on and the Mazda dealer charged me over $1,200.in less than 3 weeks trying to fix it “IN STEPS” they told me. I have never had a breakdown; I love the car; I had to get a year waver from the DMV, I could not pay anymore at that point! But I still have to get the problem resolved within this time frame (1 year) I wrote to the Mazda Corp./ The T.V. news media/ The EGR Valve; Oxygen Sensor/PCV Valve/air flow sensor/ you name it, they did it.
