2006 Honda Civic and Ridgeline: Canadian Car and Truck of the Year
Despite their name, the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards are more American than North American. But this year the results seem to be a bit more representative. Having won both the North American Car of the Year and Truck of the Year awards with the 2006 Civic and 2006 Ridgeline, Honda has now taken the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC)'s Canadian Car/Truck of the Year awards with the same two vehicles. And since two of our test drivers, Philip Powell and Colin Hefferon, are both Canadian, I figured it would be worth mentioning here. (Ever have to deal with an irate Canadian? It's not fun.)
So let's see... Mexico is technically part of North America -- I wonder if they have a Car of the Year award in Mexico? And what about Greenland, Bermuda, and the other surrounding territories? Man, this North American thing is a lot more complex than I thought... Anyway, congratulations, Honda. Or as they might say in Canada, "Congratulations, eh?" -- Aaron Gold
