Test drive: 2006 Subaru Legacy GT

The test drive team has been busy these past few weeks, and now I've got reviews piling up like... um... well, like things that pile up. First up is Phil's test drive of an old favorite, the turobocharged Subaru Legacy GT. Jason test drove last year's Legacy GT and gave it the same four-star rating Philip gave to the '06. I did not drive the GT last year; I did however test the base-model Legacy 2.5i wagon and the turbocharged Outback XT (which is based on the Legacy) and loved 'em both. The Legacy is often overlooked, but it's a great substitute for mid-size staples like the Camry, especially if you like a little pizazz in your commute.

I've got lots more to tell, but it's quarter after nine California time and the season finale of CSI is on. I have to see if Jim Brass lives. They'd better not kill him off, he's my favorite character... -- Aaron Gold
