Chevrolet: An Indian Revolution?
I normally don't blog about stuff like this, but this one was just too good to pass up. While doing some research for an upcoming review of the Subaru Forester, I learned that the Forester was, until recently, sold in India as the Chevrolet Forester.
But that's not the blogworthy part. What I like best is Chevrolet of India's slogan: An Indian Revolution.
"Maharajas, freedom fighters and the common man," says their web site, "Chevrolet has ferried them all."
Though it appears that the Chevrolet Forester is gone, Chevy of India sells a mix of rebadged Daewoo and Isuzu vehicles, some of which we know here in the States as the Suzuki Forenza and Reno (my test drive here, BJ's more favorable second opinion here). Ah, such strange bedfellows General Motors' various partnerships make! Though to tell you the truth, I'd love to get my hands on the Isuzu-designed Tavera...
GM fields the Chevrolet brand in several other countries, but as far as I can tell Chevy is not known as the British Revolution, the Brazilian Revolution, the Canadian Revolution or the Icelandic Revolution -- it's only a revolution in India, oh, and one other country, what was it again? -- Aaron Gold

why pick on GM?
is it easier to kick a man when he is down.
many other auto makers do the same.
why not comment about them?
