It's official: New Volvo C30 coupe is coming to America
It figures -- last night I put the finishing touches on my Volvo "What's new for 2007" article, and this morning I wake up to find they've announced what will most likely be their first 2008! Volvo confirmed that the C30 sports coupe, which was unveiled today at the Paris Motor Show, will be sold in North America. The new C30 is patterned after the P1800 sports coupe of the 60s and 70s. Like the P1800 coupe, it'll have an all-glass tailgate. Unlike the P1800, it'll have lots of power -- a 218 hp 5-cylinder turbocharged engine is the prime mover. More photos:
Naturally, I've started a What's Coming in 2008 section to complement our What's New for 2007 articles. As for the latter, I'm just awaiting confirmation from a few of the automakers that I have my facts straight and we'll be good to go... then I can get on to the business of reviewing all these new and updated cars! -- Aaron Gold
