If you could get any car as a gift, what would it be?
I'm sure we've all dreamed of walking out of the house and finding a four-wheel present sitting in the driveway. In my dream it's usually either a 1968 Dodge Charger or my favorite modern-era bad boy on wheels, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Let's hear about what you think is the ultimate roadgoing present. If you could get any car as a gift this holiday season, what would it be? Click the "comments" link and tell us. -- Aaron Gold

InfinitinG35 coupe with every option!
A Lexus RX 400h
A great car for Colorado (my home) loaded with options, right for the environment and faster than the RX 350.
Aaron before I click on your page which was linked on “My Yahoo” I said the EVO right away. I can have fun while driving my family around.
I’m an old man. To me driving is going from point A to point B and back and doing it as cheaply as possible.
I want a V6 Impala, enough room and fairly good mileage with the size.
Needs to be fast, very fast, and practical, so that it can be my daily driver.
Almost any Porsche fits the definition, although my preference will be for a Ruf Boxster (you know: two trunks!)
Or any AMG MB, or any RS Audi….
Aaron: You think sooo small. If you’re gonna put something in my driveway with a bow on it, make it a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. I’ve been a very good girl this year….
the lancer evolution is my dream car!!! Im doing schooling in PA and when I go back home I’m hoping to have one waiting for me or else I’m going to buy one! My neighbor has a black one that has a beautiful body kit and everything and he is getting older and has kids so maybe he will sell me his!
If not the lancer… a Chevy Cobalt
2007 svt shelby cobra very few out there very fast
TVR Speed 12 would rock my world….
The young guy in me says a mustang gt500, gotta love a supercharger. But, being that I’m an old fart, I’d take a nice outfitted Hummer H3, for tail riding & camping with my nephews.
I would like a Aston Martin (any model). It sexy, comfortable, classy, fast and exclusive. But in reality any car would be a pretty nice gift.
the new hydrogen powered honda… because its new, revolutionary, state of the art, enviornmentally responsible and you can bet i’d be the first to have one!
If somebody wanted to give me a car i would not be choosey because i would very gratefull for we do not have a car so we deapened on our daughter to drive us every where
I wouldn’t want a car…instead, I want a truck. More specifiaclly, a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD complete with Duramax Disel engine, 4WD floor-mounted shifter, 6-Speed manual transmission with automatic overdrive, and about a 5K check for customizing even more. That’s what I’d want.
Call me practical–I want a Honda CRV EX–great looking SUV, goes anywhere, has enough safey equipment, and I can pack my bike and a lot of other stuff when I travel.
The new Alfa Romeo Brera is my hands-down choice. It’s a rolling work of art, and the Brera GTA (which hopefully will come to the US in 2010) with a near 300hp V6 and AWD will be just as satisfying to drive as it will be to look at!
Any car?? I think I’d like to have a Tesla roadster parked outside my door! Just being able to drive by our local gas stations without stopping would be fun, but having a great handling car on our twisty mountain roads would be a blast!
Man, I would love two: Honda Odyssey and a Mazda Miata. That’s the perfect combo.
And I need a driveway. And a garage.
If we’re talking just one car, I’d take the Dodge Charger. Schweet!
I’d like a brand new cherry red Cadilliac De ville! WIth a sunroof HEated seats etc!! Vroommm
1957 Rambler Rebel fully retored
1957 Rambler Rebel fully restored
I would love to own a Pearl White Mercedes….
)
A BMW coupe`
Porsche Carrea 4S A friend has one and it is great.
I’m already set in the rally car dep’t (’05 STi) and sports car dep’t (’66 Lotus Elan) – the next step is a supercar. If Santa would leave a McLaren F1 under my tree, I would promise to begin believing in him again. I’d also need to get a tree that has a lot of free space underneath. But I think the McLaren will be at the top of my list for a long time.
If that’s too exotic, then maybe a Stanley Steamer. Or a ‘70 Hemi Road Runner 4-speed. What can I say, I like a variety of cars.
Unfortunately, it’ll probably just be clothes under the tree again. Yawn. Oh well, I’d need a bigger garage anyway…
Jeep GLADIATOR concept
My wish is for a 76 cadillac eldorado convertible(fully restored)red preferred.The other would be a 59 pontiac catalina convertible,stick,fully restored.but if i had to,a black 58 chevy impala conv.(fully restored)would do.
I am a huge fan function over form. Most any Porsche does both well and for a bargain of a price when compared to other cars in it’s price class. for me, a new 911 Turbo is the car of my dreams…and while I am dreaming, throw in a trip to the factory so I can choose all the options and then watch my car being built. Then the kicker, the maiden voyage on the autobahn before it gets shipped to my garage…Wow, got to stop, I’m drooling all over myself
69/70 boss 302, a true icon of the muscle car era that can run on switch backs, dragstrips, turn heads and bring true car buffs to their knees. As far as the new stuff? A simple unassuming mercedes mc claren gullwinged roadster would do nicely, thank you…Oprah, are you still single?
Call me dull if you will, but I’d like an ‘07 storm grey Toyota Camry with black leather interior. Fantastic mileage, the ultimate in practical elegance.
Let me be the first one to call you dull.
Man, some of these epople just don’t get it. If they could have any car they wanted, ANY CAR IN THE WORLD, they would choose a Cobalt or their Camry? A CRV, H3, or Impala? Come on now people, can’t we dream just a little bigger than that, or are we just all so downtrodden in our lives that we can’t even bring ourselves to dream big?
I’d love a McLaren F1, but I think it’s kind of cliche. Give me a nice Plum Crazy 1970 Hemi ‘Cuda, and I’ll be happy. I mean, I love my P5 and all, but seriously, if I could have 1 car as a gift, it sure as sheet wouldn’t be a 2002 mazda P5.
Cobra’s, Mustangs, Rice Burners….Bah Humbug! Make mine a 2007 Corvette Z06 with loads of Lingenfelter performance upgrades. In Yellow if you please. Now that would make my Christmas Merry!
1979 trans am it was my first car i ever had and i loved it
A Hemi Dart. Or a Hemi Charger. A Hemi anything!
One of two. My dream car is either the 1969 Trans Am convertible or a 1973 Firebird Formula Super Duty. The 1969 because the lines are classy and it was the first Trans Am made. The 1973 because a Formula with a shaker hood is just plain cool. And if I remember right, the only Formula with a shaker hood is the Super Duty.
No doubt about it… I’ll take a Tesla Roadster from Tesla Motors.
Any of the below:
1. `67 GTO Convertible
2. `68 Dart 383 Convertible
3. `52 Hudson Hornet /Commodore
4. `93 Monster Miata (w. a 5.0 V8)
5. `06 MazdaSpeed 6
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, with hard top and automatic tranny, or the new Chrysler Sebring hardtop convertible.
57 Pontiac convert with tri power engine
The Lincoln MKX would fit me nicely.
I love the look! The retro grill reminds me of the Mercury/Lincoln grills of the early 60’s.
Ford GT, tungsten, white stripes
MKIII 427 AC Cobra
2007 Chevrolet corvette Z06
I have had close to 300 cars since I was 15 years old. I am now 61. I love them all, but right now I’d love to have the 2007 Chrysler 300 Heritage model with the Hemi. I drove it last week, and THAT is a gentleman’s hot rod!
After watching YouTube video, a Ferrari 599GTB, a usable, licensable for street supercar.
A ‘34 Chevy 2dr Coupe, modernized
A ‘63 Chevy 2dr Impala, w/409, 4spd
A ‘72 Chevy Monte Carlo, w/502, 5spd
I have always wanted a Corvette. I look at them and dream of someday owning one, but I realize that at my age it will never happen. and there is always a Lamborgini since I am Italian.
A 2008 Honda Accord would be nice…
McLaren F1
Mercury Marauder! The Crown Vic is also one of my favorites, however the Marauder can kick the Crown Vic ass with the same frame, lol.
I’VE HAD SECOND THOUGHTS.
HOW ABOUT A 63 FIRE ENGINE RED JAG CONVERTIBLE.THE ONE WITH THE 250 FT LONG HOOD.THE TWO SEATER.
I’ll take a BMW M3. Great style and performance, practical enough to drive every day. A McLaren F1 would be great as would many supercars, but where you gonna take it for an oil change? Jiffy Lube?
Porsche 959
2007 BMW M5
a 1956 Porsche 550 Spyder…
oh wait, I already have one (2001 Vintage Spyders hand-built exact replica – CRAZY FAST & FUN!)
Next: Lambo Gallardo, Lotus Elise, or Z06 hmmm
Maybach. With a driver. Preferably cute
Ford GT. What else can I say, a Ferrari beater with an actual warrantee!!
And its damn good looking and easy to drive fast!!
for me its either a nissan 350Z or a 71 gto judge or a 70 dodge challenger with the 426 hemi
Receiving a nice vehicle is one thing -driving it and living with it for a few years (until Santa brings another one)- well, then I’d make it a small Lexus.Or,its equivalent Acura, sedans – no clunky SUVs!
The Nissan Maxima. Very fast car, bullet proof V6, great handling, good gas mileage too!
At age 56, dream cars, like dream girls/or guys if you like, are often replaced by fond memories. And it’s funny how often the two are paired together.
Three choices- MG TD in that soft butter yellow they had; T-Bird 57, blue, white leather and white removable top; and a 64 Impala convertible, 283 leather interior. White on white.
My first car fully restored:
1964 Buick Riviera
‘69 Chevy Camaro SS
either a Subaru Outback SE or a Camry XLS
American: Malibu Maxx
Spyker C12 LaTurbie, if you are going to dream, dream big.
I’D LIKE TO HAVE A 2007 RED CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE – THEN I’D HAVE A RIDE UNTIL I RESTORE MY 78
1999 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo
For me it would either have to be a 67′ Shelby GT 500 Fastback (Eleanor), 57′ California Top Bronco, or for you people who are into the new and fast cars a 06′ – 07′ Audi RS6
A Hummer
I can’t believe no one mentioned a Pagani Zonda F1. that is one car that kicks a** no doubt about it.
Honda NSX, because it’s exotic, comfortable and a tension eradicator. Time to hit the road!
I AM A HUGE “CAR GIRL” I LOVE CARS!
A 69 Yenko Camaro 427 Coupe (for my brother) And for me, I already have a black 2006 Monte Carlo SS. I would like to own a Ferrari in the near future. But right now, I’m good! Also…
1. BMW 6 Series Coupe
2. Infiniti FX45
3. And I can’t forget the cute Mini Cooper S!
I would take any of the following:
Hemi Cuda
427 Shelby Cobra
Ferrari 365 GTB Daytona
Lotus Espirit
or a fully restored
87 Buick Regal Grand National
1962 CHEVY IMPALA SS, 409, DUAL QUADS, RED, VERY RED!
Pagani Zonda F roadster
in bare carbon-fiber finish.
Have you seen the Phanthom in the new Jay-Z video? SICK!!! But on a more realistic note, the new four-door Jeep Wrangler is what I want for Christmas.
the original moon buggy and a free trip to go drive it!
1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible. Orange with a black top.
1969 (or the more rare ‘70) Shelby GT500 ‘vert in Silver Jade with white knitted vinyl seats, automatic and a white top! Mmmm.
I’d want a Ford GT40!
A brand-new, out-of-the-box Subaru Forester. In red.
Classic: 1968 Chrysler Town and Country station wagon
Now: Dodge Magnum RT or SRT8
You know how people talk about the car they sold years ago that they wish they still had today. Well, I’m the guy who never got rid of mine.
Please Santa, I’ve been good. You owe me. Pay up. I’ll take the Bently Azure. A first class machine, a convertible, a chick magnet.
an evo for sure with all the bells and whisles
I would take the new Acura MDX in the Black Cherry color fully loaded with Nav.& entertainment package.
2007 crown victoria
It would have to be a Bugatti Veyron. Enough said.
1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertable
It would have to be a Dodge Viper Venom S1000. The twin turbo engines would be enough for me.
Got the car, since ‘04. But the Cooper Works option would be sweet.
I’d be very happy with an 87 Buick GNX. Or any Porsche 911 turbo. For the overkill facter a Carrera GT.
The only way to go is a BMW 6 Series!
It truly would be a “December to Remember” if Santa brought me a Lexus GS350.
BMW E46 M3
Honda Fit, because I want to save world from its addiction to oil.
I’d go classic. And there are hundreds of cars I’d love to have so choose any. Among the tops are:
1967 Ferrari 275 GTS/4 Alloy NART Spyder
1960 Aston Martin DB4 Zagato
1955 Porsche 550 Spyder
Any swoopy Delage, Delahaye, Talbot Lago
While we’re dreaming – a 1938 Auto Union type D Grand Prix car would be fun
Well, it would properly be a Ford Expedition used to have a 2003 loved enough room to take family.
Most any of the Duesenbergs, a gullwing Mercedes 300 (or a nice new McLaren), ‘66 Shelby Cobra 427, a boat-tailed Auburn, and with a nod to the guys in earlier; a Tesla Roadster would fit in my garage nicely too.
I would love to restore my 1966 Buick Skylark that I have in my garage……
The dream car I would want is the Aston Martin DB5 in “Goldfinger”. I may be a young guy but I love that car.
I just want a Toyota Tacoma 4 door with the TRD Off Road Package…is that so much to ask?
I just want a Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab with the TRD Off Road Package…is that so much to ask?
Ford Mustang GT500. Ford made that one easy for me!
1. Bugatti Veyron 16.4
2. Jaguar XKR
3. Ferrari F430
The best car to get as a gift would be any Ferrari or any Audi but if I had to choose just one it would be the all new Audi R8 supercar.
Z06…in black please.
Ford Escort for sure (it’s blazing fast, sexy looks, luxury abound, and superb handling.)
I would like the one that bears my name,(Rolls) but I would be
happy to see a Bentley or Jag
as alternate choices or to get realistic, perhaps a Camry
1991 Escort GL 4 dr. hatch 1.9 cruise air tilt. Factory fresh. Most comforable small car I’ve driven.
‘66 or’67 GTO convertible. Has to be a 4 speed. I still love the style of this car. Gotta have those red line tires.Mulsane blue. Full tank of premium fuel. Magical Mystery Tour on the radio. Heaven!
A Speed Yellow 911. Need I say more?
1959 cadillac
A Gibbs Aquada…amphibious cars are the coolest, and this one can really go, both in and out of the water, despite the obvious compromises that must be made when building a vehicle of this type.
I own a G35 coupe and would love to have the new Nissan GTR coupe, only if I could afford it.
WHAT ELSE BUT A DODGE VIPER!
I’d like to have a well equiped Dodge Magnum.good mileage, good looks. I’m 62 I’ve had most of the supercars, and now’s the time to be comfy, and use my cruise control
I would like a 1959 AH Sprite, with all new electrical system. Wire wheels, disc brakes etc.
I’d love to have a 63 Corvette split-window.I was probably 10-11 yrs old (I’m 53 now)when I got my first ride in the back it.I was a ring bearer for a cousin’s wedding.Every time we hit a bump, my head would hit the split-window.I’ve been in LOVE with it ever since. The looks, the sound, the get-up and go.Awesome.Maybe one day I can afford to get one!?
Oh if Santa would only bring me a pretty electric blue, (not the actual name of that color)…2007 HONDA S2000 to park next to my fiance’s 2005 S~ Grand Prix white….but I would surely settle for the 2004 Black S that’s for sale down the road….Oh please hear me Santa.
I really like those Toyota hybrid SUVs. Give ‘em 10 more mpgs and I’ll drool. I’ll take mine in blue, please.
1994 5 speed red Mustang GT Convertible with peanut butter interior. Yeeeah baby!

I would like Chrysler 300 w/ Hemi!!!
I want a Chrysler 300 w/ a Hemi
Hey Jimmy (comment #71) dont ask for a Honda NSX,you wont get one, try asking for an ACURA NSX you’ll have better luck!
Thomas, if Jimmy lives outside the US or Canada or any other market where they sell Acura, he will have to ask for a Honda NSX.
http://world.honda.com/NSX/
Mercecdes Benz 2007 S550
Ooh, a White Porsche Carrera, thanks for asking! When I was sixteen I would have said a used Karman Ghia but (unfortuately for anyone who might actually *give* me a car as a present) I’ve grown up and now I’ll take a new Porsche instead. Santa, you listening?!

If I could buy my dream car. I think I would buy the new Tesla Motors(Roadster). from the photos I have seen it is an great looking car. if it lifes up to the hipped that the press is giving it, going 0-60 in 4 seconds and gettings 135 miles to a charge. sounds like a great fun car to play with. but wonder about sound system and airconditioning and heating it in the winter and how well will the car work in chicago in below 0 degee weather will the battery charge hold up to whats stated? I like the fact you can plug it in or use a wind mill or solor panals to charge it for free
im sure this car will be a collectors auto in the future. as the start of a better auto for enviorment and a fun car to have in front of our homes to make the neighbors jealous.
An orange Lotus Elise
Bugatti Veyron
With out question, a 1967 Chevy Chevelle SS 396.
29 roadster turn into a hot rod i am a fan of old muscle cars
A solid white 1957 Chevy Belair. It is 50 years old this year and a collector’s item by anyone’s standard!
I am a teenager, and I used to think if I could have any car in the world I would pick the fanciest Mercedes of course. My dad bought me a 1991 Red Mazda Miata and we spruced it up with special rims and a chrome style bar. All of the parents thought my Dad was crazy to buy me such an unsafe vehicle. Just last week I drove my car into a tree on an old country road because I took my eyes off the road to look at my ipod and it was very icy and dark. I was rushed to the emergency room and everyone told me it was a miracle I was still alive. This wasn’t just a miracle it was the positioning of my bucket seats and front airbag. My 1991 Mazda Miata saved my life. The car is in pieces, but I literally walked away with a broken ankle to get help because my cell phone was in pieces. If there is any car in this world I could have it would be my 1991 Mazda Miata.
A new chrysler Sebring hardtop convertible shoulb be the best.
Now, I may be a teen, and I may not have my license yet, or even taken driver’s training, but for me, I would love to get the 1967 Shelby Mustang G.T.500 Fastback with a manual transmission, in black paint for the base, and candy apple red paint for the stripes. Whoever disagrees that this is one of the best cars ever, then go kill yourself, now.
2006 Mitsubishi lancer Evolution IX MR Edition. My Dream Car!!!!
A Lotus 7. Make that a Super 7! Painted green, of course! No kits, just the original Colin Chapman design. Ever since I saw Patrick McGoohan drive it in “The Prisoner”.
I wouild like to find a 1968 Chevelle Malibu, yellow color with black interior. 307 would be perfect. The wheels should have ‘mag’ imitation Chevy wheel covers.
Any luck in finding one???
2009 or 2010 Toyota Supra… i really doubt 2008…
1986 1/2 supra was my first car, and it will remain my favorite.
1968 pontiac gto

2008 Lotus Sport Exige Cup
2008 Mercedes SLR McLaren 722
my dream ride !!!
I would like to have a new Pontiac GTO. I would like it to be Yellow or Blue with a moonroof, tinted windows, and BIG chrome rims. I will have one someday, when I can afford it. lol.
hmm, i would like to say my ultimate car – Mclaren F1 LM, but i dont think it would be very practical day to day. i think an f430 scuderia would be great, who cares if its not the most comfortable car in the world?!
I would love to have my white 1970 GTO Judge back again. I sold it because I thought I would never be able to afford the gas for it! Dummy.
THINK LAND YATCH! The clasical luxury of a 1949 Cadilac Eldorado Series 62 convertible with ALL the options…bored and tuned up with dual exhaust and igniters for the flame throwing thrill of a lifetime and power to spare(as long as you buy the gas). My dad had one as a young man and I havedreamed of buying him one since he first told me of it and how he lost it when a “friend” totaled it and refused to fix it. My dad is 69 and he would flip to see me drive up in that car!
I would love a Lambo Gallardo Spyder!
1984-89 Ferrari Testarossa. Nothing on the road looks like it with the big side intakes for the raidiators and the wide rear. If not a Testarossa I would take a F40 second an my list.
