Photos of the 2008 Cadillac STS
Whenever people talk smack about General Motors, I often wonder if they've forgotten about Cadillac. Think about it: Ten years ago, Cadillac was a stodgy old person's car. Today they've got vehicles like the CTS and Escalade that people my age (35) and younger actually want to buy. How many automakers can you think of that have been able to completely transform their image in less than a decade? It's an amazing success story, and one that often gets overlooked.
For 2008, Cadillac is bringing the STS even further into the fray, giving it radical new styling similar to the CTS, optional all-wheel-drive, and a new version of the 3.6 liter V6 with direct fuel injection. Direct fuel injection is a technology that lowers emissions, increases fuel economy and boosts engine response. Volkswagen and Audi use direct fuel injection (they call it FSI) in cars like the A3, RS4, S6, and even the Passat, and it works wonders. (General Motors' own Pontiac Solstice GXP also uses direct injection; the engine is wonderful but the rest of the car isn't.)
I'm looking forward to trying out the new STS; our first drive is probably a few months off. Meanwhile, enjoy our 2008 Cadillac STS photo gallery. Thoughts on the new technology and/or the new styling? Click the "comments" link below. -- Aaron Gold

Will Cadillac ever figure out how to design an attractive interior? I still see mostly old farts driving cadillacs, going way to slowly, with the turn signal permanently on. I see a few youngins driving CTS’s.
I’m the first to admit I was wrong about Cadillac. It’s a very impressive turn around.
Tesla, check out the interior of the 2008 CTS — far, far superior to the dreck Cadillac has been making.
I’d be curious to find out how the 2003 CTS is holding up reliability-wise compared to its competition. If GM has fixed that up as well, heck, it’s impressive…
Agree with Brooklyn Bob. The original CTS interior was typical cheap “almost-but-not-quite-there” GM. But the new 2008 is a HUGE improvement. I could easily see my self buying a new CTS
Whose idea at GM was it to make the front grills on all the Cadillacs even BIGGER? The cars were tolerable to look at before, but now they’re downright embarrassing.
I do agree about the interior bit though: much better than before.
