Photo gallery: 2009 Audi A4
Audi has released the first photos of upcoming A4, which will debut in the autumn of 2008 as a 2009 model. Audi says the design is based on the A5 coupe, but I see other influences -- compare this photo of the A4 with this photo of a "Brand X" German coupe to see what I mean.
The US version of the A4 will launch with a 265 horsepower 3.2 liter V6 engine. A second engine will follow -- the logical assumption would be the current 200 horsepower 2.0T, but that engine isn't going to be offered on the European version of the car, and Audi isn't saying what that second engine would be. Hmmm. Along with the 3.2 V6, the Euro-spec A4 will offer a 1.8 liter 160 horsepower engine (probably not enough power for the US market) along with 2.0, 2.7 and 3.0 liter diesels. Could the second US-spec engine be a diesel? Man, that'd be cool. Anyway, for a better look at the new A4, check out my 2009 Audi A4 photo gallery. -- Aaron Gold

Will this debut in Autumn ‘08? I’m assuming that’s what you mean by “next” autumn. Am I right?
You are correct, Tim, and I’ve updated the blog entry to state that more clearly.
