2008 Infiniti G37The Infiniti G37 Coupe is the new-for-2008 follow-on to the G35 coupe. Is it good? No, it's not good.

It's not even great.

It's brilliant. Absolutely, wonderfully, amazingly, blindingly, mind-blowingly brilliant.

In the decade or so that I've been doing this, I can honestly say that the 2008 Infiniti G37 is one of the best cars I've ever tested, right up there with my all-time favorite, the Audi RS4.

What makes the Infiniti G37 so great? Simple, really: Find me another vehicle that's a true sports car -- and that rules out a) anything with more than two doors and b) anything that's only fast in a straight line but not in the curves -- that comes wrapped in true luxury amenities and labeled with a brand name that people actually respect, for thirty-five grand. Yeah, there are a couple, but I don't think any of them deliver more grins-per-greenback than the Infiniti G37. It's a hell of a deal on a hell of a car, and I absolutely love it. So much so that I -- the original Star Scrooge -- awarded it the best possible ranking of five stars.

Now that I've basically given away the ending, I implore you to get the full story on the 2008 G37 by reading my 2008 Infiniti G37 test drive and review (remember, the more you read, the more I get paid). Have your own opinion on the G37? Think it's brilliant? Or do you think I'm an idiot to love it so much? Click the "comments" link below and have your say. -- Aaron Gold

Absolutely brilliant! As a current G35 driver, I can’t wait until my lease is up to get into the new G37. The updates are amazing and the 6-speed is calling my name. This car is so much fun to drive; I haven’t had this much fun since my ‘96 Vette. Just wish the trunk was more useful.

If you are truly interested in a sports car, is 24HP worth the ten grand more for a G37 versus a Nissan Z?

Everything I’ve read about this car would lead me to believe that each word of praise is well justified…I wish that I could afford it…and it’s certainly not overpriced for its level of competancy…it performs brilliantly, it’ll be reliable and is georgeous to boot…mind you gas mileage will be bad news…but alas no car is perfect!

They don’t get much better than this! This is what the Mustang GT should have been!

Right you are Johnster…I just got passed by one yesterday …took me 5 minutes to reel my tongue back into my mouth! This car is better than a Mustang GT/Shelby in every way. It is slick, sophisticated and goergeous! Mind you the Mustang is cool in a dated, knuckle-dragging, boy racer wearing a Red Man cap, kind of way. Once again Ford was taken what has turned into an old pig and put lipstick and a pretty skirt and bonnet on it and is parading it around as something new. My humble Mini has more innovation and excitement than the rumlbing music of the Mustang’ exhaust tune. Hey “Born To Be Wild is truly a great tune that had it’s day…I’m just sick of hearing it today.

I’m comming from driving a BMW z4 3.0i which while fun and very well handiling car is a little to stiff for every day driving.

I have the G37 in the base trim auto with the 330hp and the 18in wheels.

I love it!….its such a nice ride and fast!!

The G comes with so much even in the base, this is not true of the 335i coupe.
