Here we go: Photo gallery of new 2009 cars
It just occurred to me that we now have pictures of enough confirmed 2009 models to open up a photo gallery. Though the gallery only has a handful of cars, I expect I'll be adding a bunch more later this week as the Los Angeles Auto Show gets under way (yep, it's here already).
Now, this kind of brought me up by the short hairs, as I'm still updating the make-by-make articles in our What's New for 2008 section. (Note to self: Get butt into gear.) I'll be adding more makes in the next few days; the ones that are up there contain the latest information as of... well, as of now.
A note about my New for 2009 gallery -- one of my pet peeves is automotive sites that post speculative information in their new-for-whatever sections, which doesn't tend to be terribly accurate. So the only vehicles you'll find pictured in the gallery are vehicles which the automakers have confirmed are going into production. No rumors, no speculation. Over the next few weeks, I'll start adding articles to our What's Coming in 2009 section that will clearly spell out what's rumored and what's actually going to happen -- so you'll have a clear idea of what you can expect to show up in the showrooms in the not-too-distant future. -- Aaron Gold

After the Audi A8 and the Infinity G37 it’s hard to see anything in the near future that’s going to beat these two in looks or performance…not even the new Jag can touch these babies…as to the Camaro and Challenger they’re niche cars and lack smooth silky lines. They’re too bulky and “muscular” to be comparable. They are great at what they’re meant to do, though. All this from a guy who drives a Mini!
Don… wait till you see the Nissan GT-R.
Agree on the Nissan eventhough some of the design lines are a little strange. As for the gallery, we have seen so many Camaro concepts over the last several years that by the time the car finally is out, it will feel dated. Is it just me????
Mike
No Mike it isn’t just you! But would you rather they put out a half-baked disappointment as they have so often in the past. I’d rather be seeing spy shots of the Camaro and the Challenger all over the place (as it gets road tested by company mules), than reading a bunch of recalls, horrible reviews and disappointed driver blogs on these E-pages. Hey what ever happened to that little hot rod from Chryco? Is it gonna go into production? Sorry, forgot the name.
