2008 Lamborghini ReventonI thought getting to test drive a 2008 Audi R8 was pretty cool -- but then Basem Wasef, About.com's new Guide to Motorcycles, one-upped me big-time -- he got an invitation from Lamborghini to come to Italy to test drive their new $1.4 million supercar, the Reventon. Lambo plans to sell just 20 copies, and Basem got a chance to drive #0, a pre-production model. Naturally, Basem took lots and lots and lots of photos -- wouldn't you? -- and whether you like the F-22-fighter-jet-inspired stying or not, there sure is a lot to look at.

I'll be posting Basem's review tomorrow -- meanwhile you can check out lots of original About.com-exclusive photos in our 2008 Lamborghini Reventon photo gallery. -- Aaron Gold

It looks like the Skunkwerks put together a new stealth fighter! Absolutely stunning futuristic lines on that car! And the material used on the seats and interior looks delicious. Too bad you have to sell your soul to own one.

Looks like there is another poster that will be tacked up on many a teen boy’s wall. Stunning. Now, I want to see them make a version with a twin turbodiesel motor tuned to run off B99 Biodiesel with about 1K ft lbs of torque…that way I can sell it to the wife as an environmentally conscious decision!

A beautiful piece of rolling sculpture that you would be afraid to take anywhere for fear of stone damage to the paint…who needs that? 1.4 million? Justify that to the suffering of Darfur. There is a point when a show of ostentatious wealth becomes down right vulgar and ugly. This car(and the Veyron) has achieved that goal with its decadence, regardless of its perceived beauty…to me it’s the Paris Hilton of the automotive world!

Love it – I always thought the later versions of the Countach were beautiful and this has the same lines. Love the taillights. The nose is a little pointy, but I could probably live with that. As fast as and much better looking than an Enzo. Make mine black, with a set of brushed alum wheels. I’m glad Lambo’s have lines again.
