2008 Honda S2000 CRLast week I asked you to vote on whether the Honda S2000 CR could be considered a new-for-2008 model and thereby eligible for the Best New Cars of 2008.

You said no -- so the S2000 CR will have to remain on our not the best list, even if it is on a technicality.

I really like the S2000 CR, but I think you folks made the right decision. Great it is. New it ain't. Now I just need to wait until this goes into production... -- Aaron Gold

Any word on when the CR-Z is supposed to hit the streets? If Honda stays anywhere near true to the concept, it’ll be the hottest sport hatch on the road…in my opinion.

This car is inconsequential…oudated model which will sell in paltry numbers. Even discussing this car is a waste

Any reasonably minded persons are going to see that this car has a definite “souped up” or “pimped up” (MTV) look, and will not appeal to the tastes of th top end spectrum of the discerning consumer. This does raise my concerns for the taste/ standards of this site.

Well honda has entered the realm of crap cars. stripping the s2000 to make a “race car” is the death of a really great roadster. i have a 2004 s2000 and it equals every other roadster available in the 40K range. to “pimp” this work of art has changed my opnion of Honda Motors. Maybe they could put some steer horns on the hood for the “western” Texas market .Also. the two tone interior and material looks like a K-Mart “special. The air foil make it look like a clown car. That blue !!Where did they get that !!No radio ,power accessories, insulation, and that 38K price tag for a striped down model !! Shame on you Honda

This is obviously Honda’s attempt to squeeze a little more toothpaste out of the tube and evidence that Honda has again failed to go out and get a new tube of sports car, just as they should have updated the Acura NSX a long time ago. Hey, if Chrysler (of all car companies) can do an update on the Viper, surely Honda/Acura can keep its/their halo cars up to date. Nothing sadder than when your Sunday-go-to-meeting gets frayed around the cuffs.
