While most automakers have sought to differentiate their compact sedans -- primarily through styling -- Toyota has chosen to give us more of the same. The 2009 Toyota Corolla looks a lot like the old Corolla. And from a mechanical standpoint, the new Corolla is as conservative as the sheetmetal it wears. To tell you the truth, I think that's a good thing. Check out my 2009 Toyota Corolla test drive and review to find out why. -- Aaron Gold

BORING
Looks like a typical Toyota. Not exactly sure what would spruce it up, though. Maybe a nice, sleek two-door version with some performance mods. Whatever you do Toyota, no hatchbacks!! The Vibe/Matrix already has that covered for this model.
What is it about hatchbacks that people dislike so? They just seem so much more efficient. I have a spectra5 and find it so much useful than a four door sedan.
I agree with Jimmy…why not offer a hatch back? I hated it when my 2005 Civic didn’t offer one like my 2001 did. I could get so much more in it and the basic design of the car was almost undistinguishable. I Europe I believe their tremendously popular.
