2008 Chicago Auto Show photo gallery
Friday February 8, 2008
I've been waiting for the Chicago Auto Show as it was our first chance to have a proper look at the production version of the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. But it turns out that several other interesting vehicles made their debut in the Windy City. Check out my 2008 Chicago Auto Show photo gallery for the details. -- Aaron Gold

Hey Aaron I’m not sure why, but the link to the Auto show gallery only reloads this page. I’ll try again later. Maybe it’s just the Bill Gates in my computer.
Oops, Mike, that was my bad. All of the links should be working now. (Key word: “Should”)
Aaron
The new Challenger is completely and totally (to use an old fogies term–HEAVY!! My gen would say COOL or FAR-OUT!! My sons gang would say AWESOME!!) Either term, it is a great package. I took many many pics of it LAST YEAR as it was the feature creature at the St Louis Auto Show. This year that follie was given to the CAMARO. I can say both new RETROS are HOT HOT HOT. I personally like the Challenger somewhat better, but at $38,000 I will view it from the sideline. As far as I know pricing has not been set for the Camaro, but its understood that it will be similar to the Dodge.
Money must not mean much to many though. Dodge took 4300 orders for this SWEET challenger on the very first day.
The Camaro will be available early next year.
(Aaron this is what the spokesperson said about the Camaro at the Auto Show in St Louis a couple weeks ago. If you know something different, please correct me–THANKS)
Re: Transit Connect…this is EXACTLY the type of vehicle needed in our market. A smaller delivery type vehicle with just enough room to haul some gear. Heck, we’ve been looking at buying a few of the older style Scion XB’s to handle our onsite service calls. Now, if Ford has any brains at all, they’ll bring it in with a small diesel motor and I’ll be at the dealer ordering several for my company tomorrow. All they need to do now is bring the transit van in so there is some competition to the Sprinter (which is bloody expensive) and Ford will get themselves a huge boost in revenues.
I agree with Kevin. It boggles my mind that Ford has not responded sooner to the Sprinter. It is totally eating the Econoline’s lunch. Of course, Ford does have this habit of keeping its good stuff from reaching American shores.
