The New York Auto Show is now open to the public!
I'm rather bummed that I wasn't able to make it to this year's New York Auto Show -- it looks like it was a great one. Luckily, Brooklyn Bob Schulties, our man in, um, Brooklyn, went in my place and got lots and lots of good shots.
One again, General Motors -- specifically Pontiac -- has some great stuff on display, including the G8 GXP and Sport Truck and Solstice coupe. But Chrysler wasn't far behind, having finally revealed the details of the full Challenger lineup. Check out all the highlights of the show (and my thoughts on the cars) in our 2008 New York Auto Show photo gallery.
If you're within reasonable traveling distance of the Big Apple, this is not a show you want to miss. Find out when and how to get there in my 2008 New York Auto Show Visitor's Guide. -- Aaron Gold

What’s with the headlights on the new Maxima? I have never thought of schizophrenia as a true design language. It looks like Nissan put a faschia from a different car on there.
The G8 Sport Truck is kinda cool looking and I didn’t even like the El Camino.
I think Toyota and Nissan need to stop listening to their corporate spies. Enough of the cubist concepts already! They would seem more conceptual if Scion wasn’t already into the second iteration of the Xb. The perfectly vertical windshield on the Hako should provide all the wind-tunnel prowess of a Freightliner.
Still love the Cooper even in Clubman guise.
Anyway, that’s my rant for today.
You may be surprised but the FORD FLEX taxicab reminds me of when the Kalamazoo (MI)firm CHECKER who was well known for NYC taxis began producing the same taxis for regular car buyers! Who bought them? Older people who wanted a car easily gotten into/out of! How abou it “Hawaiian Don” is there a retail maket for us old timers who still like to look at chicks!
Hey Biilie Joe!
Yes there is…but women like cars that represent either deep pockets(stay away from those gals) or cars that show that you’re cut from a different bolt of cloth(go for those). I suggest a Mini Cooper with the British Flag roof and miirors in Chili Red. If a guy like me at 6′0 and 230lbs. can get in and out of it easily, so can you.
Go ahead and show them that you’re different and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg and I promise you that when you drive it, you’ll feel 20 years younger!!!
That Honda Civic KOUP concept is pretty cool. Oh, that’s a Kia? Whoops.
