Oh, how I’d love to have your job!!! Slight problem though, I live in Japan and I doubt they’d send this car over for a weekend in my driveway. But I have seen a few Nissan GTR’s on the road!!! Think they’d believe me if I said I was a report working for you?
Oh No you dee’int
You bastard. (And I mean that in the most envious way!) Your wife’ll never let you out of the driveway alone, either.
Aaron, can’t wait to see the review and see if this thing is overhyped or not. Plus, I want to see how it handles on your top-secret test roads.
Wow that is terrible. The need to fire every designer in detroit. They just can’t make anything I want. Seriously can america have an origional idea. The last decent one was the Viper. Everything else is just a rehash of old junk. even the movies. iron man superman batman indiana jones. are we really this lame. make something new!!!!
Man I wish I could afford one of these beauties. I just love the retro look and this car does it better than most. To the guy above me most car companies are not jumping on the retro look I mean you have what 5 retro styled cars out of hundreds (HHR, Camaro, PT cruiser, Challenger and the Mustang) so whats wrong with a little variety.
Many other cars have retro tendencies too. Consider most Jaguars, Porsche 911, Mercedes and BMW grilles, Mini Cooper, VW New Beetle, etc., etc. Some are for brand identity and some are for nostalgia. But these companies offer other less nostalgic designs. Same with American companies. Corvette isn’t a “rehash” neither are some of its tamer siblings like the CTS-V or the G8 GT. Chrysler offers the 300C SRT. You may not like the “original” stuff but it’s available if you want it.
Hey Aaron….When your driveway’s done with it, mine needs it.
Once again, GM’s timing is perfect. The reincarnated Camaro is arriving just as gas is almost $5. and the everyone is looking for 4 cylinder econoboxes so they can still have enough money after gas bills to purchase food for their children. Talk about being out of step! GM isn’t losing billions by accident.
That’s a Dodge Challenger. I think most of the commenters know that. I only mention it because one commenter seems to think it’s a Camaro…
If that’s a Hemi then it’s gonna look great in most peoples’ garages as gas passes $5 @ Gal. The six is the only one that could possibly interest me. However, I’m still looking forward to this review with perhaps a later review of the real world V-6 version.
This is truly a great retro car. It’s up there with the Beetle and the Mini. But it harkens back to a whole lot more excitement and an era that was so “60’s Americana”, than the VW or the Mini. This car appeals to the MOPAR fans vs. the Mustang and the FOMOCO crowd. What Chevy needs to do after it releases the Camaro retro, is to put out a “63 Split Window Corvette retro. Now I’d be checking out banks to rob, to get me one o’ them!!!
The new Challenger is a great looking car. They finally got it right. Too bad they botched the Charger so badly.
As for the $4/gallon gas; it hasn’t stopped me from driving my 66 Charger, and that only gets 16mpg. I’d buy a Challenger in a heartbeat even with the price of gas. The Challenger should get low/mid 20’s as long as owners don’t constantly drive it like they stole it. There’s more to life than the price of gasoline.
I drive an 06 Mustang GT,love the looks of that Challenger, but will dump my Mustang like a fat girlfriend as soon as the Camaro is available.
