MINI has a new converible version of the Cooper on the way next year. (The Cooper hardtop was all-new for 2007, but the '08 convertible is based on the original platform.) So I thought it'd be fun to have a last look at the current MINI Cooper convertible before it goes away. Boy, was I wrong. Get the full story in my 2008 MINI Cooper Convertible test drive. Boy, am I happy I bought a Mini Cooper hardtop instead of the convertible, according to this article. However, my really good pal back in Miami recently bought exactly what you test drove. Worse yet, I’m the one who turned him on to Mini! He hasn’t said anything bad about his Mini, but he’s too cool a guy to make me feel bad. I’ll forward your review to him. As for my Mini, it has 19k miles in 11 months and just last night driving up the 101 I turned to my wife and said that this is the most fun car I’ve ever owned. I like it more than the day I bought it and that there’s probably always going to be some kind of Mini in our garage, as long as the stay true to the concept!
Don, I was thinking of you when I wrote that apology to MINI owners.
