Chevy Camaro - very nice! yellow is a good color on this car.
Lotus Evora - also very nice! Aaron, when do you get to drive this one? *eagerly awaiting secret curvy test road results and a full review*
Ford Fusion Sport - looks like they are finally taking some styling cues from Acura. It’s about time they got with the program.
Fusion “Sport”? Believe me, there will be very little ’sport’ value to this car if it will not be available with a manual transmission. I like the effort, as it reminds me of the Contour SVT, only this time the power will be done right. Only other gripe: it’ll probably only be available in front-wheel drive.
For that matter, why does it seem that standard powertrain packing from mfgs these days seems to be flipping off U.S. enthusiasts (I’m talking to you, Audi/VW)? All wheel drive models always seem to be offered with autos only (R32, Tiguan, A3, TT, Lancer Ralliart, Vibe/Matrix, Fusion, etc.), even performance models. Why, oh why? Yurapeeuhns get all the fun.
Man, how I’d like to change that paradigm.
@Mick: um… they are going to offer it with a manual. Also, there will be an AWD version available…
@JtotheG: Um…no they aren’t. Since you gave such a definitive answer, I figured the info must be out there somewhere. So I looked. And it’s been made pretty clear by almost every source that the Fusion Sport, which comes standard with the 3.5L V6, will only be available with the 6F35 six-speed automatic. On a side note, this is the tranny that GM and Ford co-developed. And even though I made it pretty clear I was speaking about the “Sport” model, I’ll admit that, yes, there will be a six speed manual available with the 4 cylinder model only. But since the current Fusion’s 4 cylinder already comes with a manual transmission, there’s really no need for you to have to find that out from me.
As for my other concern, yes, the sport model will have AWD optional (reports as of now say it will only be optional on the SEL and Sport-that means V6-Auto-AWD packages only! Again!). A delight, to be sure, but still spoiled by the lack of a clutch pedal, and yet once again re-affirming the complaint I made above about manufacturers neglecting those of us who are left-foot-inclined while driving.
Lotus Evora…WOWEEEE! Not only is this a breathtakingly beautiful car, but best of all it’s a Lotus. Having owned a humble little 1971 Lotus Europa, I can tell you that this will be the ultimate driver’s car…yes even better than a Porsche. Nothing handles quite like a Lotus…nothing!
