2010 Lexus HS 250h

There are a lot of people who think Lexus' new HS 250h hybrid is nothing but a tarted-up Toyota Prius with leather seats and a sedan shell. I actually thought that myself, to the point where I spent a full two days trying to come up with a funny way to combine "Lexus" and "Prius" into one word. (I failed. So far as I can tell, it can't be done. Anyone have Robin Williams' phone number?)

But a week of test-driving made it clear that the Lexus HS 250h is anything but a fancy Prius... which, as it turns out, is kind of a shame. Find out why in my 2010 Lexus HS 250h test drive and review. -- Aaron Gold

This car looks much more like an upscale version of the Corolla than the Prius. That being said, I’d be much more likely to buy this car than the Prius due to the styling. That’s about where my interest ends.

I have to agree that the economy this car provides for it’s size, price point and especially the technology it’s supposedly based off of is insanely, well…..average. Virtually any other small car on the market today gets the same economy, and most for a lower price. With all of the techno-gadgets and hybrid-tech that sooner or later is bound to develop problems (after the warranty has expired), this car really is nothing more than a tarted up Corolla hybrid. I can’t even say it’s a tarted up Prius, because as much as I hate the Prius, it gets significantly higher fuel economy numbers than this overpriced, badge-engineered wonder.
