2011 Cadillac CTS CoupeBefore we get to the CTS Coupe, a quick note: I'm on my way back from our 24 Hours of Lemons race. Things went well -- we actually finished! I'll tell you more about the race, as well as how the Cadillac Escalade Hybrid did on fuel, in a day or two.

Today, we have other news from Cadillac: Photos of the production version of the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe. To be honest, the photos don't look terribly exciting to me, but I've seen the concept version in person and it's a stunner. I'm thinking (and hoping) that the production version looks significantly better in person -- I think this is going to be one of those cars that has to be seen in person to be appreciated. Caddy also released some tech specs, and they look great: The CTS Coupe will be powered by a 304 hp 3.6 liter direct-injected V6 with a choice of 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions, and a "V" version is in the works. Have a look at my 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe photo gallery and see what you think. -- Aaron Gold

Photos usually don’t do much of anything, or anyone, justice. I hope you’re right Aaron, about the real car looking better than the pics. I happen to be a coupe and two-door sedan lover. It’s the only style I drove for nearly 20 years before I got married and had kids. I’ve almost always found them to be much better looking than their 4-door sedan counterparts. 4-door sedans are OK; they have their function as workaday vehicles. 4-door coupes are the rage right now, but, save for a couple of exceptions, they just don’t look right to me. For me, the 2-door coupe/sedan has been my favorite.

I said “almost always” earlier, because there have been exceptions. This car may be one of them. I’ll have to reserve judgement until I see the real thing.

It looks pretty slick to me…but then again I’ve loved the styling of the CTS from day 1. Pricing on the base model are going to make or break it, in my books. Based on the pricing of another potentially hot seller, the Volt I’m not holding my breath that it will be competitively priced enough to knock off the competition…but I am hoping.

Looks very nice. GM/Cadi should be complemented. I just hope the production car is lighter than the sedan.

It really does look nice, and I have to agree with Hawaiian Don, they got the looks of this car right from the beginning. The coupe only complements a nice looking car. I am not one for domestics, but I would park this car in my driveway with pride.
