Aaron's returning from his trip soon, so this will be my last chance to talk with you directly for a while. Thanks for letting me step in -- it's been great visiting with such an active group of readers. I hope you'll come visit me at SUVs.About.com once in a while to read about what's happening in the world of SUVs, crossovers and minivans. You're welcome any time.

Just wanted to point out a few articles that Aaron's been working on before I head off into the sunset. The automotive industry moves constantly, and despite rumors to the contrary, they are way ahead of normal time. In fact, while we linger in the year 2010, the auto industry has already launched 2011, and in some cases, 2012. Aaron tracks the changes, and reports on them for us. Here are a few of the latest:

2010 has proved to be a year of regrouping for the auto industry, and all of the experts are predicting that 2011 will be a year of continued growth and renewal.

What do you think? -- Jason Fogelson

OK, now I’m pissed. Volvo is dropping the V70 wagon. That’s the first car my wife and would have looked at in a few years to replace her Pacifica. Although the Pacifica is a CUV, I’d really like to get away from the whole CUV/SUV thing and get back to a standard wagon the next time. Every time I try to pack extra stuff in the roof carrier on the Pacifica, I have to get a ladder just to get all the way up there. I want something where I don’t have to be 8′ tall in order to reach the roof. It’s about to the point where if I want an affordable wagon, my only choice is VW.

I read the update on Volvo. Unbelievable that they have dropped the V70. Someone must have been sleeping or are the Chinese taking over….. They own the company and are they now driving the marketing dept? Hope not. The Estates of Volvo have been legendary. And the V50 is NOT a replacement. A pity.

Hasn’t anyone told Honda how homely and oversized this portly Accord is? I sure don’t seem to see that many crowding the California Freeways lately. This car needs a total face lift and an extended stay at the weight loss spa…ASAP.
As for the anemic CR-Z, well that needs to get some of Roger Clemens’ left over roids!!!
