Funny thing -- Jason Fogelson (who runs our SUVs site) and I often disagree about whether certain vehicles should be considered SUVs or cars, and therefore whether they should be covered on his site or mine. We've both laid claims to cars like the Nissan Juke and the Subaru XV Crosstrek. But when it came to the all-new Buick Enclave, we didn't even debate -- despite the fact that it's about the same size as a Honda Fit, this thing is totally an SUV. And for once, I mean that in a good way. Find out why I'm so fond of the new micro-Buick in my 2013 Buick Encore review. -- Aaron Gold

Aaron, that car looks like something that I would spray Rid-A-Bug on. And the interior is ugly!
Well, it’s certainly another SUV, as though the world really needs another one. It isn’t all bad, but the fact that the back seats don’t lay flat when folded down, and the lack of a manual transmission are deal killers for me.
This is one UGLY car, in the same category with Pontiac Aztek, probably also committe-designed to fit the micro-SUV niche… Sorry Jason, can’t take this car seriously!
I think the Encore is an interesting niche vehicle, and one I would certainly check out . However, I’m not sure how well it will sell in my state, where we have one of the highest obesity rates in the nation. Sadly, At 6’0″ and 150 lbs. I’m almost an anomaly in my area. I don’t know how to charitably bring it up, but the fact is that a lot of my compatriots would not comfortably fit in a vehicle like the Encore. Huge trucks and SUV’s are the rule here. But I’m glad that manufacturers are increasingly providing more sensible choices for motorists like me who don’t need or desire such large ungainly vehicles Now if we could just get some of the cool European wagons here!.
Aaron, is this comparable in size to the Tucson and the Rogue. Looks wise, this has all the charm of a Bulldog, but they really grow on you.
I know Suzuki no longer exists in the US, but for those of us in other parts of the world, how does it compare in size to the SX4? It looks roughly the same from the pictures.
That car is really ugly
Most Buicks have been ugly for years
It is, indeed, ugly. The proportions make it look very, very strange.
