Review: New Chevy Malibu Can Make You Smile

The car parked next to mine in our condo garage is a Chevrolet Malibu. It's boring to look at, and so are the two old buggies who own it and never respond to a smile or word of greeting. Nor, and this is really sad, do they even notice the parade of wonderful new cars that I bring home for a week or two of testing. Maybe, I'm thinking, they represent the Malibu's target market. If so, they're due for a jolt because the new Malibu, though still a fine choice for the mid-America masses, represents a whole new change of direction in which the 200 hp V-6 LS is so quick that people like these could find themselves in trouble. Buy the 4-cylinder Malibu, folks, it's just fine, and meanwhile read Colin Hefferon's test drive. It might, God forbid, even cause you to smile.
