Snapshot :
The 2004 Honda Civic is one of the world’s best-selling compacts; well-built, comfortable, technologically-advanced. The addition of hybrid gas/electric power also makes it one of the cleanest and most economical. EPA city/highway mileage is 46/51 mpg. Prices start at $19,650 in the US, $29,510 in Canada. Basic warranty is 36 months/36,000 miles.
Should You Buy a 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid?:
The Civic has long been one of our favorites because of the way it handles and because of the excellent interior ergonomics, a blessing for both driver and passengers. With the 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid, owners have the privilege of driving a car that is both easy on the environment and easy on the wallet. The 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid uses a small, conventional gasoline engine working in tandem with a battery-powered electric motor, providing performance equal to a conventional Civic. It works through a choice of 5-speed manual transmission or a gearless, belt-driven CVT (continuously variable transmission) automatic. The latter is a perfect match for the hybrid combination, allowing it to operate at the most efficient rpm’s while providing a seamless driving experience. Pollution emissions are about 10% of what a typical new vehicle might produce, so there’s the additional satisfaction of driving a “green” car. The well-equipped 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid costs more at the outset but fuel savings will eventually offset the difference in price.
