Snapshot:
The sedan equivalent of Infiniti's racy G35 Sport Coupe. Rear-wheel-drive, powerful engine, compact size. Two manual shifts plus an automatic available. Definitely meant to be driven quickly, but with rear seat passengers on board. How Much?:
Price for a base 2004 Infiniti G35 in the US ranges from $27,950 to $32,450.The Inside Story:
Front seats are comfortable, short on thigh support. Rear seat area is best limited to two passengers. Interior design is quite stunning but conservative folks will dislike the high-tech look of the instrument panel. Some controls have been criticised as "confusing."Under the Hood:
With an award-winning V-6 engine producing 260 hp and 260 ft.-lb. of torque, other options are clearly unnecessary. EPA mileage is 19/26 city/highway.Transmissions:
Fittingly for a sports sedan, the 2004 Infiniti G35 offers a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic. Vehicle Dynamic Control is standard.Warranty:
4 years/60,000 miles bumper-to-bumper. 6 years/70,000 miles powertrain.Should You Buy a 2004 Infiniti G35?:
If you like the Autobahn handling of German sports sedans but are sold on Japanese quality, the 2004 Infiniti G35 gives you both. Powerful and nicely sized, its a great ride for canyon carving. On the other hand, if family needs require a back seat and four doors, the G35 sedan provides much the same performance as the sexy G35 Sport Coupe. A great package marred only by those oversize headlight lenses. That being a mostly a matter of taste, we can recommend the 2004 Infiniti G35 sedan.
