GM promised a plug-in hybrid version of the Vue, and here it is. The Green Line Plug-In uses the same engine and two-mode system as the upcoming 2009 Vue Green Line Two-Mode Hybrid, also introduced at the Detroit show; the difference is that the plug-in version can recharge its battery from a standard 110 volt household outlet and run on pure electricity. That's the good news. The bad news: Electric-only range is estimated to be a paltry ten miles, which is bound to earn boos and catcalls from the green-car crowd. Saturn hasn't set an on-sale date, but they estimate that the plug-in version could go into production as soon as 2010.
