ALL MODELS: The warranty now covers the powertrain (engine, transmission, and parts that deliver power to the wheels), roadside assistance, and courtesy transportation during warranty repairs for 5 years or 100,000 miles (160,000 km).

AVEO: The Aveo sedan (photo) gets new styling inside and out. It is longer and wider than the previous version and its suspension is tuned for a sportier ride and handling. The 5-door hatchback gets a new name - Aveo 5 - but is otherwise unchanged from the 2006 model.

COBALT: Both 2.2 and 2.4 liter engines get a slight bump in power output, and automatic-equipped cars now get GM's nifty remote-starting system (which allows the car to be started with a button on the keyfob) as an option.

CORVETTE: Minor detail changes, including a larger glovebox.

IMPALA: The optional 3.9 liter V6 gets an Active Fuel Management system that shuts down three cylinders under light loads to improve fuel economy. A tire pressure monitoring system is now standard, and SS models come with standard leather seats.

MALIBU/MALIBU MAXX: Last year's optional 201 hp 3.5 liter V6 is replaced by a new engine, also 3.5 liters but with variable valve timing and an output of 217 hp. Side-curtain airbags are now standard on all models.

MONTE CARLO: The 3.9 liter engine option goes away, leaving only the 3.5 liter V6 and 5.3 liter V8. A tire pressure monitoring system is now standard.
