I like the head room, even for tall guys, and I like the cargo area. But I absolutely hate the window switches down low in the center console. I cant reach them without stretching, and it completely takes my eyes off the road. The ergonomics engineer must have the arm length of an orangutan to make that work. I hate the giant head restraints, only for the fact that they fill the window when I turn to look before changing lanes. And I hate the fact that theres no PRNDL indicator up high where I can see it. I also am a bit displeased that it bases so reasonably at $15,990, but equipped with what you really want, it jumps to over $22,000.
I like the steering feel; its linear, effortless, and feels good on center; I also like the ride quality. It was a lot better damped than I thought it would be. I would have liked to try the bigger 2.4-liter 172-horsepower engine, but I didnt get a chance: mine was the 2.2 of 143 hp that felt a bit anemic on launch, and that was with just one person inside.
I guess the bottom line is if you can live with the not-so-ergonomically designed interior, its not a bad vehicle. I just know that every time I reached for the window switches, I was cursing the interior designer, and for me, its those little details that would stop me from purchasing an otherwise decent product. -- BJ Killeen
