Many car enthusiasts know that the 1988-1993 Pontiac LeMans was built by Daewoo, a Korean car company in which General Motors has a controlling interest -- but few know that the car was originally designed in Germany by Opel, GM's European division. Locally-built versions were sold as the Vauxhall Astra in the UK and Opel Kadett (shown here) in continental Europe between 1984 and 1992.
