Ford managed to make the Mustang totally new yet totally familiar. The 2005 Mustang couldn't possibly be anything else but a Mustang. Which is exactly how Mustang's loyal customer base wants it. Every line is different from previous generation Mustangs but unless you see the old and new side-by-side, you'd be hard pressed to say how.

This newest Mustang has retained the signature long hood and short rear deck along with classic design clues that have identified Mustangs since the '60s - the C-scoop lines on the sides, the 3-element tail lamps and the galloping stallion in the center of the grill.

And let me tell you, this one is an incredible attention-getter. Maybe it was just the striking torch red paint job but it seemed all eyes (and I mean all ages and genders) were on it when I drove it with the top down around the affluent and trendy Coal Harbour neighborhood of Vancouver's downtown waterfront.
