A simple dash and a great manual transmission is all that's needed.

The Mustang's retro dash has been completely redesigned around a circular theme. And while the circular dials are big enough, they're not particularly easy to read in the daylight. I prefer Chrysler's idea of using a white background and black numbers; the numbers are easy to see in all kinds of light. Ford's circle motif is carried over to four dashboard mounted vents with their faux metal louvers. Vintage Car guide, Philip Powell also found this not to his (sometimes persnickety) liking.

While Philip was at it, he commented the high sill and low cushion in the passenger seat made the cabin claustrophobic with the top up. Cushion height in the passenger seat is non-adjustable. My wife complained about that, too. How much does something like that cost anyway? I think it's at best poor economics. My wife thinks it's just plain cheap.

The optional red leather with black highlights may not be to everyone's taste but it is certainly consistent with Mustang's retro design. After living with it for a week, I'm finally beginning to get used to it - even like it - but I admit I found it off-putting at first.
