Hyundai has become a showcase for the Korean auto industry. Their latest cars are engineered to standards nearly as high as the Japanese, but the prices are clearly Korean -- Hyundais usually cost a couple thousand less than comparably-equipped Japanese cars. WIth their long (10 year/100,000 mile) powertrain warranty, Hyundai hopes to live down any lasting memories of their dreadful cars of the 80s.
