Completely redesigned for 2008, the new Lancer gets a more agressive look that stands in stark contrast to the conservative outgoing model. The familiar 2.0 liter engine has been modified with a variable valve timing system that pushes output to 152 hp, and a continuously-variable transmission will be offered as an option, replacing the conventional automatic transmission. The new Lancer will be offered in DE, ES and GTS models.
