tC: The tC gets subtle styling updates to the front and rear fascias, a standard iPod connector, and airbags galore (front seat torso airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, and a driver's knee airbag), all standard.

xA: Discontinued; see xD.

xB: Completely redesigned. The xB moves to the Corolla platform and shares its 2.4 liter engine with the tC. Styling is notably more rounded compared to the previous version of the car. No word yet whether the wheelchair-accessible Scion xB rampvan will return.

xD: This all-new model replaces the xA. Though it shares its platform with the subcompact Toyota Yaris, the xD gets a larger engine (1.8 liters versus the xA and Yaris' 1.5). Gone are the center-mounted gauges; the xD's instuments are mounted in front of the driver.
