The xB's back bench is surprisingly spacious and comfortable for such a small car. Even with the front seats all the way back, there's adequate kneeroom. Tall doors and low floor make exit and entry a cinch. Grocery bag hooks on the back of the front seats are a nice touch.
TRUNK
Rating: 4/5
Here's where the xB's tall, flat sides are a boon. There's decent cargo space with the seats up; eats down the possibilities are almost limitless, but there are no cargo tie-downs to keep heavy items from flying forward in a collision. The xB has a 900-lb carrying capacity which includes people, cargo and fuel (a full tank weighs around 75 lbs). Note: The optional Bazooka Tube subwoofer takes up a sizeable chunk of the trunk's real estate.
KID-FRIENDLINESS
Rating: 1/5
Though the xB has LATCH child seat anchors at all three rear seating positions, nothing bigger than an umbrella stroller will fit in the trunk without folding one of the seatbacks, and that may not leave enough room for a car seat in the center position. The xB's diminutive size makes it vulnerable enough in a crash; I wouldn't want a child seat in an outboard position.
