Nissan 370Z Roadster: $38,660
Good buy? Not really
The 370Z Roadster is a brilliant sports car, drunk with power and enormous fun to drive. But it's expensive for a two-seater, and your 39 grand doesn't buy you much: Manually-adjustable cloth seats, simple 4-speaker stereo, and a sub-Miata-sized trunk. Opting for an automatic transmission nudges the price worryingly close to $40,000, which puts it within shouting distance of the more luxurious (but significantly less sporty) Lexus IS 250C. The 370Z Roadster is a fantastic car, but unless you have money to burn, it's not a fantastic buy.
