The Volkswagen Jetta - previously referred to as the NCS, for New Compact Sedan - is, as the NCS moniker implies, all-new for 2011. Styling is a bit of a departure for the Jetta, but even more surprising is the price - VW says the new Jetta will start at about $16,000, almost $2,000 less than the current Jetta. VW expects stronger sales in China and Eastern Europe, which will help keep costs down. Assistance will also come from the return of the 2-liter four-cylinder engine; the 2.5 liter 5-cylinder will now be optional, as will the 2-liter turbo from the GTI and the 2-liter turbodiesel from the current Jetta TDI.
