CONFIRMED:

ASTRA: Introduced as an all-new model for 2008, the Astra gets only minor changes for 2009.

AURA: Four-cylinder Auras now get a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment, and the six-cylinder version of the entry-level Aura XE has been discontinued. The Aura Green Line is now known as the Aura Hybrid; it gets bigger (17") wheels with low-rolling-resistance tires. Stabilitrak electronic stability control is now standard on all Auras.

OUTLOOK: The Outlook's 3.6 liter engine gets direct fuel injection, which boosts both power (282 hp for the XE, 288 for the XR) and fuel economy. Equipment enhancements include new seat cloth for the entry-level XE model and the availability of a backup camera as a stand-alone option, separate from the navigation system.

SKY: No significant changes.

VUE: The Vue will be available with GM's 2-Mode hybrid system, the first use of the 2-Mode system in a front-wheel-drive vehicle. The Vue 2-Mode Hybrid will be powered by a direct-injection 3.6 liter V6. The four-cylinder "mild hybrid" continues; the Green Line name has been dropped from both hybrids. A new Panic Brake Assist system comes standard in all Vues.

RUMORED:

ASTRA: Though the current Astra was just introduced in the US for 2008, the Opel Astra on which it is based dates from 2004, and a new version of the Astra should be joining the Opel lineup within the next year or so. Good chance a Saturn version will follow soon after.[/link]
